What You’ll Learn

Across this intensive three-day course, participants will develop the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to handle such incidents as:

  • Defining the role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
  • Conducting incident risk assessment and ensuring scene safety
  • Managing unresponsive casualties, including use of CPR and AED
  • Handling choking, external bleeding, and shock
  • Assessing and responding to soft tissue injuries including burns, scalds, fractures, sprains, and dislocations
  • Administering aid for major illnesses and emergencies—including angina, heart attack, suspected head/spinal injuries, chest injuries, eye injuries, poisoning, anaphylaxis
  • Understanding the secondary survey technique and appropriate use of first aid kits

  • Upon success, participants receive the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)—a qualification recognized by Ofqual and valid for three years, after which a refresher or requalification course is required.
