What You’ll Learn

Across this intensive three-day course, participants will develop the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to handle such incidents as:

Defining the role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
Conducting incident risk assessment and ensuring scene safety
Managing unresponsive casualties, including use of CPR and AED
Handling choking, external bleeding, and shock
Assessing and responding to soft tissue injuries including burns, scalds, fractures, sprains, and dislocations
Administering aid for major illnesses and emergencies—including angina, heart attack, suspected head/spinal injuries, chest injuries, eye injuries, poisoning, anaphylaxis
Understanding the secondary survey technique and appropriate use of first aid kits

Certification & Validity

Completion is evaluated through both practical assessments and a written (multiple-choice) theory examination, confirming competence across key first aid skills and knowledge.
Upon success, participants receive the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)—a qualification recognized by Ofqual and valid for three years, after which a refresher or requalification course is required.

Duration: Comprehensive 3-day course, full‑time (commonly 9:00 AM–5:00 PM), designed to meet HSE learning hour requirements.
